These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of OrbitalGuard, a space technology platform that provides orbital analysis and conjunction risk information. By accessing or using OrbitalGuard, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the platform on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on its behalf. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not access or use the platform.
We have written these Terms in plain language so that the engineers, researchers, and satellite operators who use OrbitalGuard can understand their rights and responsibilities without working through unnecessary legal complexity. These Terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle information.
To use OrbitalGuard, you must be able to form a legally binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. If you are accepting these Terms for an organization, references to “you” include both you and that organization, and you are responsible for its use of the platform.
OrbitalGuard is a software as a service platform that helps CubeSat teams, researchers, and small satellite operators understand orbital conjunction risk. The platform provides the following capabilities.
The outputs OrbitalGuard produces are analytical information intended to support your understanding of orbital risk. They are estimates derived from available data and modeling, not guarantees. OrbitalGuard does not prevent collisions, does not control or maneuver satellites, and does not provide guaranteed real time tracking or perfect predictions. You should treat the platform as a decision support tool rather than a source of operational certainty.
This section is important, so please read it carefully.
OrbitalGuard relies on publicly available satellite catalog data. The accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of this data are determined by its original sources and are outside our control. Orbital propagation and conjunction assessment are inherently uncertain. Predictions depend on the quality and age of the input data, on modeling assumptions, and on factors that cannot be fully measured, such as atmospheric drag, space weather, and unexpected maneuvers by other objects.
Because of these limitations, the information OrbitalGuard provides should not be treated as a definitive statement of risk, and it should not be used as the sole basis for operational decisions such as collision avoidance maneuvers. It is not a replacement for professional mission operations judgment.
You remain fully responsible for your own satellite operations and for the decisions you make. OrbitalGuard is designed to inform and support those decisions, not to make them for you. Where a decision carries significant operational or safety consequences, you should validate OrbitalGuard outputs against other trusted sources and your own expertise before acting on them.
We do not warrant that the data, propagations, or risk assessments provided through the platform are accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular operational purpose. Your reliance on any output is at your own discretion and risk.
To access certain features, you may need to create an account. When you do, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep that information up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, including your login credentials. You should not share your credentials with others, and you should use a strong, unique password. Any activity that occurs under your account is your responsibility.
If you become aware of any unauthorized access to or use of your account, you agree to notify us promptly at support@orbitalguard.space so that we can help protect your account.
We ask that you use OrbitalGuard responsibly and lawfully. You agree that you will not do any of the following.
You are also responsible for complying with all laws and regulations that apply to your own activities and satellite operations, including any applicable export, licensing, and space operations requirements. We may take appropriate action if we believe your use of the platform breaches these Terms or puts the service, its data, or other users at risk.
OrbitalGuard and its underlying software, user interface, design, branding, and platform technology are owned by OrbitalGuard and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership of the platform or its technology to you.
You retain ownership of the information you submit to the platform. By using OrbitalGuard, you grant us the limited permission needed to process that information for the purpose of providing the service to you.
Publicly available satellite catalog data remains subject to the terms and licenses of its original sources. Your use of that data through OrbitalGuard does not grant you any rights in it beyond those provided by the relevant source.
If you choose to send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the platform, you agree that we may use them to operate and improve OrbitalGuard without any obligation or compensation to you.
OrbitalGuard depends on third party infrastructure to operate, including cloud hosting and database infrastructure providers. Our application is currently hosted on Render. These providers deliver the technical foundation that allows the platform to run, and their performance can affect the availability of the service.
The platform also depends on public satellite data sources. These sources have their own terms of use, and their availability, accuracy, and update frequency are outside our control. If a data source changes its terms or becomes unavailable, this may affect the parts of the service that rely on it.
We aim to keep OrbitalGuard reliable and available. However, we do not promise uninterrupted or error free service, and we do not guarantee any specific level of uptime.
Availability may be affected by scheduled maintenance, platform updates, technical issues, or the performance of the third party infrastructure and data sources we depend on. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service from time to time as the platform evolves. Where reasonably possible, we will aim to limit disruption and to provide notice of significant changes.
OrbitalGuard does not currently charge for access, and no paid subscriptions are active at this time.
We may introduce paid plans in the future that offer additional features or capacity. If we do, the applicable pricing, billing terms, and plan details will be made available before those plans take effect. Nothing in these Terms obligates you to purchase any future plan.
OrbitalGuard provides information and analysis tools intended to support your understanding of orbital risk. You are responsible for how you interpret and use the outputs of the platform, and for the operational decisions you make based on them.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OrbitalGuard is not responsible for losses or damages arising from decisions made solely on the basis of platform outputs, from the limitations of public data or modeling, or from interruptions in service availability. The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by law, OrbitalGuard will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of missions or assets, arising from your use of or inability to use the platform.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
You may stop using OrbitalGuard at any time. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the platform, or use it in a way that could harm the service, its data, or other users.
Where appropriate and reasonable, we will aim to give notice before restricting access. On termination, the sections of these Terms that by their nature should continue, such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will remain in effect.
We may update these Terms as OrbitalGuard evolves, as our practices change, or as legal requirements develop. When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Where changes are material, we will aim to provide reasonable notice through the platform or by email.
Your continued use of OrbitalGuard after updated Terms take effect means that you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the platform.
